Pushpa Basnet won CNN Superhero Award

Nepali social worker Pushpa Basnet has won the CNN Super Hero Award on Monday in between a special ceremony. The programme was organized by CNN at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
She won the award via  online voting. Voting were collected on CNNHeros.com through Facebook Messenger, on the CNN Heros Facebook page and twitter.

After receiving the award, Basnet said "The most significant thing to have faith in own work". She also thanked to all, who have  voted  and supported her win the award.

She received $50,000 with Superhero title.

Basnet is the founder and president of the Early Childhood Development Centre and Butterfly Home in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her organization provides housing, meals, education, and medical services to children compelled to live in prison with their sentenced parents.

Basnet had won the CNN Hero of the Year Award 2012.

She was nominated for CNN Superhero title with other previous four CNN Heros Liz McCartney (2008), Efren Peñaflorida (2009), Robin Lim (2011) and Cad Pregracke (2013).
